15 20 25 if the dimensions of the post do not fit the opening. It is e.g. not possible to supply many forms of packages with current design.
When the mail is placed in the mailbox, it is kept in the closed room until the recipient picks it up. Here, the capacity of the room can often be a limiting factor if the recipient does not empty the mailbox for a long time. If the mailbox is overcrowded, this can e.g. result in the item being damaged or not delivered at all. In order for the recipient to be able to take out the delivered mail, mailboxes generally have another opening, often in the form of an openable door, which can be opened. In many mailboxes, there is only one recipient of the mail who can open this door because it is equipped with a locking device.
Due to legislative changes, there are new requirements for facilities for delivery of mail, letters, parcels, etc. When it comes to fl outbuildings, it is e.g. a requirement that the individual holders' mailboxes be placed together. This can usually be done by placing an entire staircase of mailboxes at the bottom of the stairwell. In this respect, space is often a decisive factor, as there is no space intended for setting up mailboxes.
There is thus a need to remedy the problems with known technology.
The purpose of the invention and brief description of the invention The purpose of the invention is fulfilled with a mailbox where the room dividers slope from the front of the mailbox towards the back of the mailbox when the mailbox is used, which means that a letter inserted in the mailbox will fall towards the back of the mailbox. This achieves a mailbox where the mail is stored securely. 10 15 20 25 The sloping compartment dividers cause the mail to automatically fall towards the back of the mailbox, which can help prevent an unauthorized withdrawal. The sloping room dividers also contribute to the mail not falling out as easily when the individual rooms are filled and the common door is opened.
In one embodiment, a letterbox is offered in which the two or two doors, which are separately arranged in front of an associated room, each comprise a letter box. An advantage of this embodiment is that the gaps are as large as possible, which helps to provide good conditions when removing the mail.
In a further embodiment, a letter box is offered in which the at least two letter boxes, each of which is arranged separately in front of an associated room, are arranged in connection with the door.
In yet another embodiment, a mailbox is offered which also comprises a security plate attached to the inside of a door, characterized in that it is not possible to see the room dividers at the bottom of the associated room directly through the letter box. This achieves a mailbox where an unauthorized withdrawal of mail becomes even more difficult and where it is not possible to obtain information about the contents of the mailbox.
In another embodiment, a mailbox is offered which includes a door with a perforation so that it becomes possible to see a part of the mailbox cabinet through the front of the door when the door is closed. In this way, receiver information applied to the cabinet can be seen through the perforation, both when the door is closed and when it is open.
In this way, it is only necessary to enter the recipient information in a single place on the mailbox, since it is possible to read the recipient information 10 regardless of the location of the door and the shutters. The perforations and location of recipient information also make it possible for persons with access to the mailbox in question to change the recipient information.
These and other features and advantages that characterize embodiments of the invention are set forth with particularity in the features, description, and claims 6-8.
Brief description of the drawings Embodiments of the invention are described below with reference to the accompanying figures. It should be emphasized that the embodiments shown are examples, and that the invention should not be construed as limited thereto.
Figure 1 shows a mailbox according to an embodiment of the invention Figure 2 shows the mailbox in fi g.1 seen from the front Figure 3 shows the mailbox in fi g. 1 with a door open Figure 4 shows the mailbox in fi g. l seen from another angle Figure 5 shows the mailbox in fi g. 1 with the door open Figure 6 shows the mailbox in fi g. 1 seen from the side Figure 7 shows a cross section of the mailbox in fi g. Figure 8 shows a letterbox without a flap according to an embodiment of the invention 10 15 20 25 Detailed description of the invention Starting from the visade gures shown, in particular fi g. 1, embodiments of the invention will be described below. A mailbox according to an embodiment of the invention comprises a cabinet 1 divided into a number of individual rooms 2. The cabinet has two substantially vertical sides 4a, b, an upper side 5, a lower side 6, a rear side 7 and a front 8. As shown in fi g. 3, the upper side 5 of the cabinet slopes from the back of the mailbox down towards the front of the mailbox.
In another embodiment according to the invention shown in fi g. 8, the upper side 5 of the cabinet slopes from the front of the mailbox down to the back of the mailbox. The underside 6 of the cabinet slopes from the front part of the mailbox down to the rear part.
The cabinet also comprises a number of room dividers 3 placed inside the cabinet.
The room dividers 3 are positioned in such a way that they extend from one side 4a of the cabinet to the other side 4b and from the front 8 of the cabinet to the rear side 7. As can be seen from frg. 3, the room dividers are bent 9, the bends being placed along the front 8 of the cabinet, which helps to strengthen the construction.
The room dividers 3 help to reduce the number of individual and completely separate rooms 2 inside the cabinet. The individual rooms 2 are also defined by the sides 4a, 4b, 5, 6 and 7 of the cabinet. The room dividers 3 are arranged and designed in such a way that they slope from the front part of the mailbox down to the back of the mailbox. The 3 positions of the room dividers mean that the space inside the cabinet 1 is used better than if it had been a question of horizontal room dividers. In this way, the depth of the rooms 2 can be optimized in a given cabinet. By using inclined room dividers 3, it is thus possible to construct a cabinet 10 with a smaller depth, without affecting the depths of the individual rooms 2. Each of the individual rooms 2 functions as an independent mailbox.
Each independent mailbox has a door 20 which is suspended in a common door 30 (described later). Each door is provided with a letter box 21 in direct connection with the underlying space 2. The letter box 21 may in certain cases be provided with a flap 25 or some other device, which helps to shield the room 2 from the surroundings and protects against e.g. rain or dust. The door 20 further comprises a locking device 22, which enables the recipient to control who has access to the mailbox in question.
The door 20 is pivotally connected to the cabinet 1 and is opened, in the embodiment shown, by pivoting out the door 20 about an axis. It will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the opening mechanism of a door can be constructed in many different ways, and thus the invention is not limited to the embodiment shown.
The locking device 22 allows the door 20 to be locked relative to the common door, and allows the door 20 to be opened only when the locking device 22 is in such a position that it allows it. In a further embodiment of the invention (not shown), the letter box 21 is arranged in connection with the common door 30 (described below).
As a security measure, the cover 20 comprises a security plate 23, which helps to protect against an unauthorized withdrawal of mail from the mailbox, and reduces the possibilities of being able to see and read information regarding the contents of the mailbox. In the embodiment shown, the security plate 23 is designed as an L-profile, which is mounted on the inside of the door 20. The security plate 23 contributes to the fact that it is not possible to see the bottom of the room divider 3 in the mailbox in question through the letter box. The room divider 3 will thus not fall within the visible area if someone peeks in through the letter box. It is not possible to establish a free, straight and unbroken line of sight through the letter box which at the same time makes it possible to see the room divider in question 3.
Each of the individual doors 20 also has one or two perforations in the front of the door. The perforations are arranged outside the bends 9 of the room dividers in such a way that the bends 9 can be seen through the perforations. By placing any identification information on 9, the perforations can. In this way, the bending information about the receiver is read by method, it is only necessary to enter identification information in one place, since this can always be read regardless of the location of the individual doors and the common door.
To facilitate the distribution and enable deliveries of larger mail such as parcels, the mailbox comprises a common door 30. In the common door 30 a number of individual doors 20 are arranged. The number of individual doors 20 corresponds to the number of rooms and thus the number of individual mailboxes. The individual doors 20 can be operated independently of the common door 30. The common door 30 comprises a locking device 31 which allows the door 30 to be locked in relation to the cabinet 1. The door 30 can thus only be opened when the locking device 31 is in such a position that it allows this. The common door 30 and the individual doors 20 can be locked, opened and operated independently of each other. The system with different locking devices 22, 31, individual doors 20 and a common door 30 makes it possible to access the individual mailboxes in many different ways. Either the door 20 to the mailbox in question can be opened, or the common door 20 can be opened to access all individual mailboxes at the same time. The common door 30 is mounted in the cabinet 1 and is opened, in the embodiment shown, by the door 30 being pivoted about an axis. It is obvious to those skilled in the art that a door can be constructed in many different ways, for which reason the invention cannot be considered to be limited to the embodiment shown.
The embodiments of the mailboxes according to the invention shown in the figures show a mailbox with three independent mailboxes / room 2. The invention is in no way limited to a mailbox with three rooms, and it is obvious to those skilled in the art that the number of rooms can be varied.
Having described the structure and construction of the mailbox, its use will be described below. The mailbox can e.g. mounted on the wall in an ascent or on a facade, but is not limited to this. When the letterbox is ready for use, a key or similar is supplied for operating both the door locks and the door locking device. As an alternative to a traditional key, you can e.g. use a chip- or magnet-controlled system for operating the locking device. The keys or the like of the independent mailbox slots 20 are delivered to the owners of the individual mailboxes. The key or the like to the common door 20 of the mailboxes is made available to the person or persons responsible for distributing mail, letters, parcels, etc.
When handing out mail to fl your recipients at once, the common door 30 can be opened. This means that there is unobstructed access to all independent mailboxes / rooms in the mailbox. When e.g. should hand out packages that cannot enter through a letter box, the common door 20 can also be opened. Then a package can be placed unhindered in a room 2 and the common door 30 is closed again.
In another embodiment of the invention (not shown), the mailbox is provided with a parking space or surface. This may be in the form of a disc that can be pulled out of the mailbox, but is not limited thereto. With a parking space, the postman has the opportunity to place a bag or a sack at the parking space during the mail delivery.
